From the Childless Aunt to First Time Mom…

When I started this blog I was the fun aunt the Godmother , the friend who loves on everyone's babies while having none of my own. My story began years ago after experiencing a loss, losing my marriage and losing myself to the depression that followed. Losing a baby I wanted so badly pushed me to a place darker than I had ever been and I made the decision to wait and heal before attempting again. It was during that time that work opened another window to motherhood in a non-conventional sense when I ended up working labor and delivery. Being apart of other women’s journey to motherhood opened my eyes and heart to the possibility of involving myself in this walk without having a baby of my own. I threw myself head first into all things women’s health, birth, child rearing, and healing and began to share that love with the world. A passion was born in me while still the desire for a family of my own laid dormant and waiting. Fast forward to now and I am 33 years young, remarried to an amazing man, and I just welcomed to the world my rainbow baby Meira Amari Goodman. She is the light of my life and the vessel of a whole new journey.
