Dear Moon,
I've decided I'll call you that. Today on the way to work the moon was still out and I thought of you and smiled. So far you are a well-guarded secret of mine but every day I want to shout to the world that you are on your way. I'm video chatting dad while I write this and he doesn't even know you're real yet. I want to tell him face-to-face so for now he has to stay in the dark. We've already named you. We lay in bed imagining what you will be like and who you will take after. We argue about what will be the most important for you, debate the best strategy for raising you, and pray that we will have all we need to give you a good life. I won't go on and on but just know that I love you little moon. You are wanted, thought of, prayed for, and anticipated. I won't be perfect and neither will your father but just know that we will always do our best for you. We are scared shitless but so excited that you chose us.
